Three Ways to Carry: Front, Hip, and Back

The Ergobaby Original Collection baby carrier gives you three ways to carry your child: in the front, at the hip, or on the back. In the Front Carry position (ideal for infants), the baby is cradled in the natural sitting position. This allows baby to focus on the parent or parent's face and to turn away from overwhelming external stimuli. When baby is old enough (about 6 months or up to 45 pounds), you can switch to the Hip or Back Carry position. This way baby can see everything around, yet still be snug and comfy against the parent's body.

Use from Birth with Infant Insert

Ergobaby Original Collection baby carrier can be used from birth (7 pounds or more) up to 45 pounds. During baby's first months, the carrier must be used with the Ergobaby Infant Insert (sold separately). The Infant Insert supports baby's entire spine, versus just the neck, to ensure the health and safety of your when in the front carry position. At four to five months, or when baby has sufficient spine and neck strength to support the head, the carrier can be used without the Infant Insert.

100-Percent Cotton Construction

Ergobaby Original Collection is made of 100-percent cotton canvas and poplin for durability and comfort. For added convenience, the carrier is machine washable.

Supportive Hood

For extra comfort during naps, the Ergobaby Original Collection baby carrier includes an adjustable Hood that can be used to support baby's head and neck while sleeping. Elastic gathers keep the Hood securely in place to protect against sun and wind, as well.
